About & Methodology
RecallRadar aggregates publicly available, redistributable product-recall data from official U.S. government sources and normalizes it into one consistent schema.
Sources
- openFDA — Food, Drug and Device enforcement (recall) reports.
- U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) — consumer product recalls.
How data is normalized
Each source uses different field names, date formats and severity conventions. We map them to a single schema: source, category, severity (FDA Class I/II/III → High/Medium/Low), status, recall & report dates, hazard, remedy, recalling firm, and affected products. Data is refreshed daily.
Accuracy & disclaimer
This site is not affiliated with any government agency. Records may lag or differ from the source. Always confirm with the official notice linked on each recall page before acting.
Programmatic access
The same normalized data is available as a REST API for developers and businesses (search, filter, daily updates).
